What is Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is designed to link farmers with community members. Community members financially support the farm through the purchase of produce subscriptions. CSA members make an up-front commitment to the farm for the entire growing season by purchasing a portion of the harvest before it is even planted. During the growing season, members are entitled to a weekly share of the farm harvest. CSA members share the rewards of the farm as well as the risks, understanding that production depends on the weather, and that unforeseen problems, such as crop failure and pests, can affect the amount of harvest.
How do I join? Go to the “Join Us” tab and click on “Subscribe Online”. The link will take you to our online store where you may sign up to purchase an annual subscription, or send a check or money order to our mailing address. As a member, you will receive a weekly share of the produce for 17 weeks -- mid June thru October. Though harvest will fluctuate with less produce and variety in early Summer and Fall, the season average will be approximately 8 pounds per week. Members will be able to "mix and match" some produce to allow for greater choices in what they receive each week. Starting at the end of June, members can pick up subscriptions at the Burlington County Community Agriculture Center, located at 500 Centerton Road in Moorestown, NJ Tuesdays: 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
